| Gallaudet opens its doors to deaf, hard of hearing and hearing undergraduate and graduate students who were attending a college or university now closed due to Hurricane Katrina. Those students may enroll either on a visiting student basis or as a full-time transfer student to Gallaudet. As this is being written, our Admissions Office is hard at work making plans for a deaf college student from New Orleans to transfer here. We are also open to deaf and hard of hearing students displaced from elementary or secondary schools. The University has established a special fund to support relief efforts for the deaf and hard of hearing community in the storm-affected area, including especially the Louisiana School for the Deaf and the Mississippi School for the Deaf. | The Art Institutes will make available both on-campus and online courses that might be able to permit dislocated students to progress in their academic careers during this semester of disruption. Students at a university forced to close by Hurricane Katrina may register at any of The Art Institutes 31 locations across the nation for courses, on a space-available basis, for the fall semester. The Art Institutes is a group of 31educational institutions located throughout North America. Offering a broad range of programs including: audio production, culinary arts, culinary management, fashion design, fashion marketing, graphic design, industrial design technology, interior design, media arts & animation, multimedia & Web design, photography, restaurant management and video production. Not all programs are offered at all schools. |

| The Art Institutes will waive tuition for dislocated students who have already registered and paid tuition at their home institution for the fall 2005 semester. If dislocated students have not yet paid their tuition at their home institution, they will be assessed the lesser of the current published tuition and fees at the home institution, or The Art Institutes’ published tuition and fees for the fall semester, as determined by the school president. |

| CUA is accepting late applications from students displaced by Hurricane Katrina using admissions guidelines encouraged by the American Council on Education, which can be found at: http://www.acenet.edu/AM/Template.cfm?Section=President2President. In addition, CUA's Columbus School of Law is accepting up to 20 upper class students for the fall semester. Undergraduate students should complete the non-degree seeking student application located at http://admissions.cua.edu/forms as soon as possible, because classes for the fall semester at Catholic University commenced Monday, Aug. 29. The Office of Admissions will waive requirements on a case-by-case basis. and the university will make every effort to accommodate displaced students, especially those with the greatest need. |

| Financial aid requests will be handled on a case-by-case basis. CUA will not charge tuition if the student has already paid tuition to their home institution. If the student has not paid the home institution, CUA will charge the home institution’s rate of tuition and remit that amount to the home institution. Certainly other fees, including room and board, may be charged as appropriate. |
