| Midwestern University (MWU) is reaching out to assist health professions students whose academic year was disrupted by Hurricane Katrina. Students as well as medical residents and interns are welcome to either audit or enroll in classes in osteopathic medicine, pharmacy, physician assistant studies, physical therapy, occupational therapy, biomedical sciences, or clinical psychology at MWU's Downers Grove Campus. Additionally, the University will contribute to the students’ travel funds or living funds as part of MWU’s outreach to those affected by the storm. Financial aid counselors will also work with full-time transferred students to obtain any federal loans that are available to them. |

| National-Louis University will admit any student already enrolled in an accredited university, college or community college within the areas affected by Hurricane Katrina and subsequent flooding. Currently enrolled students from institutions closed by the disaster will remain students of record at their home campuses. National-Louis will also facilitate the application and admission of any student not currently enrolled but who may wish to take classes during the period they are displaced. The university also has up to thirty beds in its dormitory in Evanston, Ill. available to residential students who wish to enroll at the university. National-Louis has campuses in Chicago, Evanston, Lisle, Elgin, Wheeling, and Beloit and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. | Although North Central College has virtually no residence hall space available, we can find room in our classrooms for some commuting students and we are responding rapidly and flexibly to student circumstances on a one-by-one basis. In addition, we are offering a special helping hand to students of sister United Methodist institution Dillard University, holding the last remaining residence hall rooms — less than 10 — for women students from Dillard, whom we can enroll as exchange students without a lot of concern about paperwork. |

| Wheaton College (Ill.) joins many local and national colleges opening their doors to displaced college students, enrolling the students as “temporary enrollees.” Although space is limited, Wheaton is committed to helping those students seeking an educational experience within a Christian community. Financial arrangements will be made on a case-by-case basis. The Admissions Office requires a completed application, the first essay of the application to be completed, and a high school transcript (if available).
