| Converse College, a college for women in Spartanburg, South Carolina, is ready to help and will welcome female students accepted at four-year institutions affected by hurricane Katrina. Students are welcome on a space-available basis for fall term or for the 2005-2006 academic year. We will work to minimize costs to students, including offering significant reductions in tuition and room/board costs. Our financial aid office is also available to assist students in any way possible. Our classes began on August 30, so we ask that emergency visitors begin at Converse no later than September 12. Faculty stand ready to assist visitors in compensating for the first few classes they will have missed, while our entire community will provide a home for the visiting students displaced by this disaster. Students interested in the emergency visitor program should contact the Dean of Admissions, Aaron Meis (admissions@converse.edu; 800-766-1125) as soon as possible for more information. |
